A very nice video to get your Mandarin Chinese going…although most of my students are interested in learning English…I wanted to show how creative and fun learning a new language can be…Xiaoyu and George do a very nice presentation and I am happy to have them here on my site…

Here are some idioms to look over!
1. The things in that store will cost you an arm and a leg! (very expensive)
2. Hang in there…everything will be alright..(don’t stop trying, don’t quit)
3. That man gives me the creeps! (a feeling of disgust of horror)
4. Look on the bright side..! (be positive)
5. I heard your boss gave you the ax..! ( he fired you)
6. Stop slacking and start hitting the books.! (don’t be lazy and start studying)

Many ESL students do not understand the proper use of prepositions. Students need more practice using prepositions in their speech as well as their writing. Let’s write sentences for the prepositions of location in the diagram above:
1. There’s a farm over the hill
2. My parents are inside the house
3. Don’t go through that door!
4. Your coffee is on the table
5. What’s in the box?
6. Did you go by the convenient store?
7. The school is between the park and the library.
8. She was sitting beside him during English class.
9. What is that above your head?
